Cap IV: The hostel

I arrive in United States at December 5t morning.

I took a taxi, actually I was in doubt If I was supposed to take the yellow one or the silver one... Just in case I took the yellow one.

The taxi drove until the hostel that I've got the information in Brazil, but when we arrive over there the hostel had no place to me.

So I had to get on the taxi again and go to the next hostel.

The next was the Family Inn, I paid 38 dollars plus taxes and took a bedroom.

The bedroom was... a bedroom... Simple and really cozy!! There was a king size bed, a television, a tube, so things like this...

The first thing that I did was get out, of course, I was in USA so I was supposed to enjoy. I went to Wall-mart, because in USA they are like the "shoppings" in Brazil...

There was not that cold, but there was cold than Brazil... of course...

So I called my mother and I felt strange... I knew that was the of many calls that I'd do...

I bought a lot of food and came back to the hostel with my little stuffs...

I eat and then I took a shower and slept naked in my own bedroom.

After day I was planning to go to some happy party, if you know what I mean, I was planning to go to downtown because it was near.

The day passed by and in the end of the day I got dressed to go. But when I was walking through the reception, I started to talk with the receptionist and that was one of the best talk that I have ever had...

We talked about the american habit and how that country work... how different our country is...

In that day I have listened a phrase that I'll never forget:

"America offers you happiness as much as you can pay and as long as you can pay!!"

So that was too latte and I upstairs to my bedroom once more...

The next day my supervisor would come pick me up.
I know there is 10 days that I didn't post, but I will not go on before I tell this new!!

Just pointing out...

In all my life I have got affairs, some platonic love and things like that.

I am not exaggerating when I say that Letícia was the strongest love that I have ever had.

And now she's single... Single!!

I don't really think... that... so... I mean... well...

Just saying...

I would, but I might not and even if I might I don't think I could... And even if I could, I don't think it would work... She is not that open mind...

Cap III: The visa

I had got a job offer, so I was needing a visa.

I had to fill a full questionnaire about my job, but actually I did not know many things about my own job!!!

I didn't know were I would live or my boss name...

So I filled the doc with my sponsor information and waited to see what would happen at the consulate.

Between this drama I had got an idea, to see between on mailing who would be the others who was supposed to go to the same place that I was supposed.

And so I knew him, Guilherme Fragnito!! I name to do not forget...

I saw him e-mail address and I sent an e-mail, just saying hey I'm going to work at the same place of you...

He sent me a e-mail back being very polite, the e-mail said:
Hey dude, cool you are going to the same place. Do you know were will you stay?

and also there was him cellphone number.

I sent a e-mail back saying that I didn't really know were I could stay.

Day's late we meet each other at the consulate.
There we meet some other people who was taking the visa to the exchange, pretty much like me and Guilherme.

It take some time, but all the people took the visa.

The interviewer asked me:
-Do you study at Pontifícia Universidade Católica?
-Yes.
-And you stayed abroad. Were have you stay this year?
-This year I stayed in Argentina, Uruguay, Italy, France, India, United Arabs Emirate sir.
-Have you stayed in Punta del Este?
-Yes, sir.
-And now you want to go to United States?
-eh... Yes...
-Were will you work?
-At Wendy's sir...
-Okay, you passed. Give your passport to the woman out side and enjoy your trip.
-Thanks sir!

Cap II: The job

The days was going by and I was without a job offer.
I used to check at the orkut community the peoples talking about how great was the opportunity they took, then I started to be afraid about the possibility of don't get a job.

So I started to call to my agency everyday to ask for some propose, the answer used to be the same: David when we get something we'll call you...

At that time came to me a job offer to work at some hotel in Pittsburgh, pretty much like Jean did, but in the end it just did not happen.

And one day came the Wendy's job offer... Actually it came with a offer to work at the Shell gas station like a clerical and some others.

My eyes stuck at this word and I wanted that job so much. Minutes late, I received a message in my skype saying that somebody would like to add me as a friend. I accepted because I knew that my employer would do a interview using the skype.

The interview was short, she asked me:
-Hey, what's your name?
-My name is David.
-Hello David, my name is Wiolet and I work at HSMC. Did you read the job offer?
-Yes, I did.
-Did you choose some one which you like?
-Yes, I'd like to work at the shell station doing that clerical work.
-I'm so sorry David, but we have got somebody to that job offer already... Could you choose another offer, please?
-Ah... That's alright, so I would like to go to Wendy's. That one in Alabame...
-Alright, that's ok... We'll send to your agency your documents to you take your visa. If you have any doubt contact your agency, they will provide you any information about the process... Good bye!!

And so she went out before I answer good bye...

Cap I: Before it disappear like dust in the wind...

I was thinking about the exchange, which I made, and so I realize that is better I write here the histories before it disappear like dust in the wind.

So let's get start:

Everything start at some theology class, I was bored (like ever, because Theology sucks)and so I turned around and started to talk with a classmate which names is Jean.

-Hey jean, how was the exchange which you did this last summer?
-Hey David, It was cool... You have no idea how much money you can earn at this kind of exchange?
-hã? I didn't understand, you did visit another country and also earned money?
-Yeah!! pretty much like this.
-You must tell me how it works!!
-Well... I worked at a hotel, the Seven Springs Mountain, it's in Pittsburgh... There I could earn something like 8 dollars/hours, but working overtime you can earn 12 dollars/hours.
A lot of peoples worked many hours and earned a lot of money. I could leave from United States with 2 thousand dollars... I didn't want work a lot, but if I wish I could earn much more.

So I started to think that it could be a good way to earn money and also train my English, because my listening skill is a crap.

I took the agency's name and so I scheduled a visit to talk about the program.

But it'd not be the hardest part, I'd have to speak with my mother... Somebody'd have to pay the bill...

At the first she just said: Are you crazy? You cannot be normal, how can you wonder to go so far and live with strangers in a stranger country? Of course I'll not help you with this crazy idea...

Nothing new to me, actually I knew what would be her answer already.

So I spoke to my father and he agreed with the plan before I finish the explication about how it would be a great thing to my filter...

Everything alright, so I had to tell my mother that I had got a sponsor.

Of course she got angry with him, but she accepted that there was nothing that she could do.

So she came with me to know the agency and listen their explication about the program. Of course there she made a lot of ashamed question, but in the end she understood how great that program would be.

Today I woke up, looked at my pillow and saw a handful of hair.

I raised a leap out of bed and went to check my mirror image.

I Tried, pointless and desperately cover the blank spaces with the hair that remained ... I tossed the hair from one side to the other without any succeed.

At the peak of my anger I pulled the hair left, which came out at once, without showing the slightest resistance.

I froze at the scene ...

I tossed my hair strands back against my head in a desperate attempt, hoping that some magic linking the hair strands back ...

Then the hair strands fell, dead on the floor ...

So I started to be afraid... and I cried ... because I think that is what the weak do ...

Ela só me ignorou...

Sabe...

Actually... I think...

Sometimes... I... make... the things... happen...

4real...
Hoje acordei as 15:35....

Ups I did it again...

Meu.... to fall over again...

What a fuck!

Ela me perguntou o porquê deu ter demorado tanto pra ligar pra ela. Cursed Gossip!

Por Fim... O Henry me ligou hoje... Disse que talvez rola uma balada hoje a noite, duvidoódó, maASS I'll w8 for...

What did I do?

Aff...

Eu li o blog da Mirela inteiro...

Lembrei de bons tempos...

(Actually I miss her, but what's the matter?)
Nossa...

Enfim vou dar um over view: Estou empenhado numa ciência chamada navegação onírica. Estou tendo avanços.

Ontem eu consegui quase adormecer conscientemente.
